BIBLE STUDY – Fall 2015 – Spring 2016

Two groups continue to have bible study. Dorcas circle meets I st Tuesday of the month at 1:30 pm. See newsletter and/or weekly bulletins for hostess and place, Evening circle meet 1st Wednesday of the month at the parsonage at 7:00 pm. We welcome any women to attend bible study groups.

WELCA general meetings are held 4 times a year, most of them are held before church services. The

Spring meetings is held on a week day due to amount of business needing to be taken care of. A Soup, Sandwich, Pie lunch at which lefse, baked goods, and crafts were sold. We honored our seniors with quilts, and potluck was held. A bake sale was held in conjunction with New England’s Wheat

Harvest Jamboree. Christmas gifts were given to the women at the correctional center, candy sacks to the Sunday School children, and Bibles to the 3 & 4 graders. We manned the Country Store at the annual Badlands Auction in Medora in September. WEI-CA members served funerals, helped with Lenten Soup night, maintained the church kitchen. We made and gave each graduating Senior from NEHS a quilt, Many helping hand made quilting sessions successful.

Thank you to all women who donated time, money supplies, baked goods this past year.

All the women of the church are encouraged to attend the WELCA meetings. Your input and ideas are important.

SPECIAL EVENTS & PROJECTS

The quilting ladies made 140 quilts this year. We gave to the following organizations: Fort Yates Indian Reservation 10, Home on the Range-10, Dakota Girls and Boys Ranch for auction 2, Senior Graduates 20, LWR 44, Mandan Youth Center 5, Badland’s Ministries l, for auction.

Prayer quilt and shawls for hospitalized members. Had a raffle for I Christmas quilt and sold many.

Thank you to those who delivered them to various places

We made 177 pkgs. of lefse for sale at our Fail Luncheon. Thank you to Galen Rustan for donating all the potatoes, and to all who helped and donated other ingredients, We also had bake sales and served for many occasions throughout the year, We gave stamps and cards to Women’s Correctional Center. We sent 21 bars of soap, 1l sewing kits, 23 school bags, 8 personal kits, 4 baby care kits, to LWR.
